MILE HI BUCKSKIN
General Show Information
- Those horses entering IBHA/MHBHA classes must be registered with the International Buckskin Horse Association and present papers at the time of entry. There is no registration of IBHA horses on the grounds. Horses two years old and older must have a T-Tentative or P-Permanent letter before their registration number to be eligible to show. Allow plenty of time (3-4 weeks) to send in papers and pictures to IBHA for registration and advancement.
- Any youth or amateur wishing to show in approved IBHA youth/amateur classes must have a current year youth/amateur membership card from IBHA to present at the show. IBHA Open, Youth and Amateur memberships may now be purchased at a show for an additional fee and are required to show and receive IBHA awards.
- Once an approved IBHA/MHBHA class has been entered, NO REFUNDS will be given. If only one horse is entered, that class will run and no refund given if you decide to scratch. All-Breed Open classes may scratch if there is only one horse in the class. A signed check must be left with open tabs at the time entries are made at the office.
- In Open All-Breed and Palomino classes, MHBHA reserves the right to combine classes with three or less horses, or split larger classes.
- Dogs are discouraged at shows and must be kept on leash at all times per insurance and safety requirements.
- Sportsmanlike conduct toward judges, exhibitors and spectators is expected and required at all times.
- No materials may be handed out at any MHBHA show which are not approved in advance.
- Membership applications with payment for Mile Hi Buckskin Horse Association will be accepted at the shows. However, all memberships must be approved by the Board at the next Board meeting. Points will be awarded where earned, retroactively upon membership approval.
- Year-End Awards: Exhibitors and owners must be members of MHBHA to qualify for the Buckskin Year-End Awards Program.
- In order to be eligible for year end awards, a member is required to choose one of the following options:
- Work two (2) full days at open or closed horse shows or other designated functions or find a suitable substitute to work in his/her place. Fifteen hours of committee work will count as one day.
- Pay $150 to MHBHA.
- Get $300 in sponsorships.
- A minimum of 10 points per horse/exhibitor per class must be earned to be eligible for year end awards.
- Dollar amounts for yearly awards will be determined annually by the board. 50% of the total award amount must be spent on awards to be presented at the banquet. If no award is chosen by the exhibitor by the deadline, the award will be chosen by the board for the full amount.
- Please note that each show has its own entry fee structure, class schedule, special rules for high points, etc. Refer to individual showbills for complete information.
